Tribal Positions
- Bead Merchant
The Bead Merchant shall maintain the Bead Achievement Program for all Princess of the Navajo tribe. He shall maintain sufficient inventories of beads and feathers for distribution to the Princesses at each meeting for Bead Achievements, Scouting Reports and any other reason such that beads and/or feathers may be distributed to the Princesses. The Bead Merchant shall instruct the Princesses at each meeting, or as often as necessary, on proper Princesses apparel including vest, tee shirt, and any other tribal dress, as well as methods of displaying the beads, feathers and patches awarded to the Princesses.
- Wampum Bearer
The Wampum Bearer counts the frog skins and the pebbles in the wampum pouch. He is responsible for collecting the Tribal wampum, and he is responsible for collecting and sending in "Y" fees, as well as any fees which may come due from time to time for Great Pacific Nation campouts or events.
- Medicine Man (Assistant Chief)
The Medicine Man's job is to light all tribal fires at camp outs, and ensure that sufficient firewood will be available to fuel those fires for the duration of the camp out. The Medicine Man shall fill in for the Chief in the event that the Chief is unavailable. The Medicine Man is also next in line to replace the Chief.
- Chief
The Chief is to see that there is continuity in meetings. He conducts portions of the meetings, acts as the leader of the group, and represents the Tribe at Longhouse Meetings. He makes assignment sheets and checks to see that jobs are being done. He is responsible for sending all communications from the Tribe to Tribe members, and circulating the news of the Tribe via phone, snail mail or e-mail between meetings. He shall receive frequent thanks and praise!
- Sachem (Chief Emeritus)
The Sachem is the Wise Man of the Tribe and past Chief. He constantly reminds the Princesses of the Y-Princess Aims and Goals.
